3-30-300 Green Access Scorecard

How to use this tool

Enter or select a Montreal neighbourhood to see how it scores on the 3-30-300 green access rule. This international standard evaluates three criteria: at least 3 visible trees from every home, 30% minimum canopy coverage in the neighbourhood, and a park or green space within 300 metres of every resident. Each criterion receives a grade from A to F.

Why it matters

The 3-30-300 rule is a globally recognized framework for measuring equitable access to nature in urban areas. Neighbourhoods that meet all three criteria have measurably better health outcomes, lower crime rates, and higher property values. In Montreal, many central boroughs fall short on canopy coverage while outer suburbs may lack nearby parks. This scorecard helps residents understand their neighbourhood's green infrastructure gaps and advocate for improvements.
